Itinerary

Day 1Istanbul - Cappadocia Flight and South Cappadocia Tour (L)

Your 9 Days Turkey Tour with Blue Cruise Tour begins with an early morning hotel pick-up in Istanbul and a smooth transfer to the airport for your one-hour flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival, your local team meets you at the airport and transfers you to the office in Goreme Town, where your South Cappadocia Tour begins at 9:30.

The day opens with the underground city, where eight visitor-accessible levels reveal tunnels, rooms, and hidden spaces carved beneath the earth. It is a fascinating first glimpse into Cappadocia’s mystery and ancient resilience.

The scenery then opens into Love Valley, known for its unusual rock formations and memorable photo opportunities. After lunch, you continue through the warm colors of Red Valley and the softer tones of Rose Valley, followed by the historic rock settlement of Cavusin Village.

The day ends at Pigeon Valley, where wide views create a calm and scenic closing moment before your transfer to the hotel. The evening is free in Cappadocia.

Day 2North Cappadocia Tour - Flight to Izmir (B,L)

**Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride (contact us for Booking)**

For many guests, the optional Cappadocia balloon ride becomes the most unforgettable moment of the tour. Before sunrise, balloons rise over fairy chimneys, valleys, and cave towns as soft morning light spreads across Cappadocia. Advance booking is recommended, as spaces are limited and flights depend on weather conditions.

After breakfast, your North Cappadocia Tour begins at 9:30 with a panoramic photo stop overlooking Uchisar Castle. From here, the region opens in dramatic layers, giving you one of the best views of Cappadocia’s volcanic landscape.

The tour continues to the Goreme Open Air Museum, known for rock-cut churches, chapels, and ancient frescoes. Lunch is enjoyed in Avanos, followed by a pottery demonstration where you can also try shaping the clay yourself.

In the afternoon, you visit Devrent, St. Monk’s Valley, St. Simeon’s monk cell, and Pasabeg before flying to Izmir and transferring to your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk.

Day 3Ephesus Tour (B,L)

At 9:30, your guide picks you up for your Ephesus Tour. During the drive to Ephesus, you receive helpful background about the region before stepping into one of Turkey’s most impressive ancient cities.

Your visit begins at the Magnesia Gate, followed by a guided downhill walk past the Odeon, Celsius Library, Temple of Hadrian, Trajan Fountain, and the magnificent Great Theater. The ruins create a vivid feeling of Roman life, with elegant streets, monumental buildings, and centuries of history still present in the stone.

The Great Theater, once seating around 24,000 people, is especially powerful and is believed to be where St. Paul preached to the Ephesians. After Ephesus, the tour continues to the peaceful Virgin Mary House, followed by lunch.

In the afternoon, you visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the historic IsaBey Mosque in Selcuk before returning to your hotel.

Day 4Hierapolis and Pamukkale Tour - Transfer to Antalya (L)

Your day begins with pick-up from your hotel in Kuşadasi or Selcuk for the scenic three-hour drive to Pamukkale. On arrival, lunch is served at a local restaurant before your guided visit begins.

You enter from the top of Hierapolis Ancient City, exploring the Gymnasium, the impressive Amphitheatre, and the Temple of Apollo. With your guide’s insight, Hierapolis feels like an open-air museum where Roman history, sacred spaces, and ancient thermal culture come together.

Afterward, you remove your shoes and walk carefully across the white travertines of Pamukkale, where warm mineral water flows over bright natural terraces. You may dip your feet in the hot springs or enjoy the man-made thermal baths for a swim.

At the end of the tour, your guide takes you to the bus station for your journey to Antalya. Upon arrival, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel.

Guests must be able to walk approx. 0.5 miles over the travertines without shoes.

We advise you to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a comfortable swimsuit.

Day 5Perge, Aspendos, Kursunlu, and Manavgat tour (B,L)

After breakfast, your guide picks you up at 8:30 for a full-day tour of the historic and scenic highlights around Antalya. The day begins at Perge, an ancient city originally settled by the Hittites around 1,500 B.C., where old streets and ruins reveal the region’s deep historical roots.

The journey continues to Aspendos, home to one of the best-preserved Roman theaters in Turkey. Standing before its grand stone seating and stage gives the visit a powerful sense of scale and ancient elegance.

Lunch is served at a traditional Turkish restaurant before the tour continues to Manavgat Waterfall, a refreshing natural stop that adds sound, movement, and greenery to the day. At the end of the tour, your guide transfers you back to your hotel in Antalya, with the evening free to relax.

Day 6Antalya-Demre by bus and transfer to the boat for Blue Cruise to Fethiye (L,D)

After breakfast, your driver picks you up at 8:30 and takes you to the bus station for the three-hour ride to Demre. Upon arrival, you are welcomed and transferred to the boat, where your Blue Cruise to Fethiye begins with lunch on board.

The cruise sets out toward Pirates Cave, where you have time to swim in clear coastal waters. From there, the boat sails to the Kekova Sunken City, where ancient Roman ruins can be viewed from the boat. Swimming is not permitted here, which helps preserve the historic remains beneath the water.

The next stop is Simena Town, where you can explore the castle and enjoy optional water sports. In the evening, relax with dinner at Pirate’s Haven or enjoy the livelier atmosphere of Smuggler’s Inn.

Day 7Kalkan and Kas (B,L,D)

After breakfast on board, the cruise continues toward Kas Harbor, a charming coastal stop with a relaxed fisherman’s village atmosphere. Lunch is served here, with time to explore at your own pace and enjoy the town’s easy Mediterranean rhythm.

The area is also known for ancient Lycian tombs and a Roman theater, which you can visit if you wish. These historic touches add depth to the day, blending sea views with the feeling of ancient coastal life.

Later, the boat sails to Firnaz Bay, where the pace slows beautifully. Dinner is served on board, and you spend the night surrounded by calm water, coastal scenery, and the peaceful atmosphere that makes a Turkey Blue Cruise so appealing.

Day 8The Butterfly Valley, Oludeniz and St. Nicolas Island (B,L,D)

In the early morning, the boat sails to Butterfly Valley, where breakfast comes with sunrise views and a quiet sense of escape. You also have time to visit the Butterfly Reserve, known for its 130 different kinds of butterflies.

The cruise then continues to Oludeniz, one of Turkey’s most scenic coastal settings. Guests who want an unforgettable view can choose the optional paragliding experience over the coastline, a thrilling highlight that many travelers remember long after the trip ends.

The final stop of the day is St. Nicholas Island, where well-preserved Byzantine ruins and a beautiful sunset from the top of the island create a memorable last evening on the boat. Dinner is served on board as you enjoy your final night of the cruise.

Day 9Fethiye-Istanbul by plane (B, L)

After breakfast, the boat sails to Samanlik Bay for a final swim and lunch in a peaceful coastal setting. It is a relaxed and refreshing way to close the Blue Cruise before docking at Fethiye Harbor around 2:00 PM.

After check-out from the boat, your driver transfers you to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, you are welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel in Istanbul, completing a beautifully varied Turkey journey.

Your 9 Days Turkey Tour with Blue Cruise Tour ends with a rich blend of experiences — from the valleys of Cappadocia and ancient Ephesus to the white terraces of Pamukkale, the historic coast of Antalya, and the relaxing blue waters between Demre and Fethiye.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes this 9 Days Turkey Tour with Blue Cruise different from a classic land tour?

This itinerary combines Turkey’s famous inland highlights with a relaxing coastal cruise. You explore Cappadocia, Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Antalya first, then spend several days sailing from Demre to Fethiye. That mix gives the tour a stronger sense of variety: ancient cities, white terraces, fairy chimneys, waterfalls, swimming bays, sunken ruins, Lycian towns, and peaceful nights on board.

Is the Blue Cruise section suitable for travelers who want a relaxed pace?

Yes. After several active sightseeing days, the Blue Cruise adds a slower and more scenic rhythm. Days 6 to 9 include swimming stops, coastal villages, boat meals, sunset views, and time around places such as Kekova, Simena, Kas, Butterfly Valley, Oludeniz, St. Nicholas Island, and Samanlik Bay. It is still organized, but it feels more relaxed than the land-based tour days.

Can I book the Cappadocia hot air balloon ride during this tour?

Yes. The Cappadocia balloon ride is optional and can usually be booked upon request. It takes place early in the morning before sunrise and is weather-dependent for safety reasons. Since spaces are limited, advance booking is recommended. For many travelers, seeing Cappadocia’s valleys, cave towns, and fairy chimneys from above becomes one of the most memorable parts of the Turkey tour.

What type of traveler is this Turkey tour package best for?

This tour is best for travelers who want a complete Turkey itinerary with culture, history, landscapes, and coastal relaxation in one trip. It works well for couples, friends, and active travelers who enjoy guided sightseeing but also want time to swim, cruise, and slow down by the sea. It is less suited to guests looking for a beach-only holiday.

How much walking and physical activity should I expect?

The land section includes moderate walking at Cappadocia valleys, Ephesus, Hierapolis, Pamukkale, Perge, and Aspendos. Pamukkale requires walking about 0.5 miles barefoot over the travertines. The Blue Cruise involves getting on and off the boat, swimming stops, and optional walks in towns or island areas. Comfortable shoes, swimwear, and basic mobility are important.

Are meals included on the Blue Cruise?

Yes. The cruise section includes several meals on board, including lunch and dinner on Day 6, breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Days 7 and 8, and breakfast and lunch on Day 9. This makes the boat portion feel easy and well arranged. Drinks, snacks, or special onboard extras may depend on your selected package.

What should I pack for Pamukkale and the Blue Cruise?

Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, a swimsuit, light clothing, and a small towel. For Pamukkale, shoes must be removed on the travertines, so be ready for wet and uneven mineral surfaces. For the Blue Cruise, pack swimwear, sandals, a light cover-up, and a soft overnight bag if possible, as boat cabins usually have more limited storage than hotels.

Is swimming allowed during the Blue Cruise?

Yes. The itinerary includes several swimming opportunities, including Pirates Cave, Firnaz Bay, Butterfly Valley, Oludeniz, and Samanlik Bay. Swimming is not allowed at Kekova Sunken City because the underwater ruins are protected. This balance allows travelers to enjoy the coastline while respecting important historical sites along the route.

Are there optional activities during the cruise?

Yes. Simena offers optional water sports depending on availability, and Oludeniz includes the possibility of optional paragliding for travelers who want a more adventurous experience. These activities are not presented as included in the main itinerary, so they should be treated as add-ons and confirmed in advance or locally depending on conditions.

How is transportation arranged between regions?

The itinerary uses a mix of flights, road transfers, bus travel, and the Blue Cruise. You fly from Istanbul to Cappadocia, then Cappadocia to Izmir, travel by road through Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Antalya, take a bus from Antalya to Demre, cruise to Fethiye, and finally fly from Fethiye area back to Istanbul. Transfers are built into the route for smoother travel.

Will I have free time during the tour?

Yes. There is free evening time in Cappadocia and Antalya, plus more flexible moments during the Blue Cruise in places such as Kas, Simena, Butterfly Valley, and Oludeniz. The cruise naturally allows more downtime than the early sightseeing days, giving you chances to swim, relax on deck, explore small coastal stops, or enjoy the scenery at your own pace.

Is this tour good for photography?

Yes. This itinerary offers unusually varied photo opportunities. Cappadocia gives you valleys, fairy chimneys, and optional balloon views. Ephesus has the Celsus Library and Great Theater, Pamukkale offers bright white terraces, Antalya adds Aspendos and Manavgat Waterfall, and the Blue Cruise brings Kekova, Kas, Butterfly Valley, Oludeniz, St. Nicholas Island sunsets, and turquoise coastal views.

It was an average tour overall. The daily tours were well organized and followed the itinerary as planned. However, the cancellation of the balloon ride slightly affected our Cappadocia experience. Still, everything else was good.
