Day 1Arrival in Istanbul and Check-in to hotel

Your Turkey tour begins in Istanbul, a city where historic streets, grand domes, and lively neighborhoods create an unforgettable first impression. Upon arrival, your private driver will welcome you at the airport and transfer you comfortably to your hotel in Sultanahmet.

After check-in, the rest of the day is free to relax or explore nearby. A gentle walk around Sultanahmet offers your first glimpse of Istanbul’s old-world atmosphere, with cafés, minarets, and centuries of history all around you.

Day 2Istanbul Walking Tour (Old City) (B)

After breakfast, meet your guide at 8:30 for a full-day walking tour through Istanbul’s Old City. Begin at the magnificent Hagia Sophia, where the scale, silence, and layered history make it one of Turkey’s most moving landmarks.

Continue to the elegant Blue Mosque, then step into the historic Hippodrome, once the heart of Byzantine public life. After lunch at a traditional Turkish restaurant, explore Topkapi Palace, the former residence of Ottoman sultans, where courtyards and imperial rooms reveal the grandeur of Istanbul’s past.

Your day ends at the legendary Grand Bazaar, one of the world’s most atmospheric covered markets. With colorful shops, handmade goods, and the energy of local trade, it is a memorable close to your first guided day before returning to your hotel.

Day 3Istanbul to Izmir flight - Ephesus Tour

Early in the morning, transfer to the airport for your short flight from Istanbul to Izmir. Upon arrival, continue to Selcuk and begin your guided Ephesus tour, one of the most impressive ancient experiences in Turkey.

Entering through Magnesia Gate, you’ll walk downhill through marble streets lined with remarkable ruins, including the Odeon, Celsus Library, Temple of Hadrian, Trajan Fountain, and the vast Great Theater. The atmosphere here is powerful, as ancient city life feels almost visible around every column and stone.

After Ephesus, visit the peaceful House of Virgin Mary, then enjoy lunch before continuing to the Temple of Artemis, once one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Your final stop is IsaBey Mosque in the Selcuk area, a graceful historic monument before returning to your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk.

Day 4Hierapolis and Pamukkale Tour - Transfer to Antalya ( B)

After breakfast, travel from Kusadasi or Selcuk toward Pamukkale, with your guide sharing insights along the way. After lunch, enter the ancient city of Hierapolis, once known for its healing thermal waters and impressive Roman remains.

Explore highlights such as the Gymnasium, Amphitheatre, and Temple of Apollo, then continue to the dazzling white terraces of Pamukkale. Walking barefoot across the travertines, with warm mineral water flowing beneath your feet, is one of the most distinctive experiences of this Turkey itinerary.

After free time to enjoy the thermal atmosphere, transfer to the bus station for your journey to Antalya. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.

Guests must be able to walk approx. 0.5 miles over the travertines without shoes.

We advise you to bring your sunglasses, sunscreen and comfortable swimsuit with you.

Day 5Perge, Aspendos, Kursunlu, and Manavgat tour - Flight to Cappadocia (B)

Following breakfast, your guide will pick you up at 8:30 for a full-day Antalya tour. Begin at the ancient city of Perge, where grand ruins and old stone streets hint at the scale of this once-important settlement.

Continue to Aspendos, home to one of Turkey’s best-preserved Roman theaters. Standing inside the theater, it is easy to imagine the sound and spectacle that once filled this remarkable space. After lunch at a traditional Turkish restaurant, enjoy the refreshing natural scenery of Manavgat Waterfall, a peaceful final stop before your onward journey.

At the end of the tour, transfer to the airport for your flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up and transferred to your hotel.

Please Note: If there is no direct flight available from Antalya to Cappadocia, we will book a connecting flight via Istanbul. If preferred, a bus transfer from Antalya to Cappadocia can also be arranged.

Day 6South Cappadocia Tour (B)

**Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride (contact us for Booking)**

For travelers who want the most iconic Cappadocia experience, the optional Cappadocia balloon ride is a sunrise moment worth planning ahead for. Floating above valleys, cave villages, and fairy chimneys gives the region a quiet, dreamlike beauty that many guests remember as the highlight of their trip.

Later, begin your South Cappadocia tour at an ancient Underground City, descending through historic tunnels and chambers that reveal Cappadocia’s hidden past. Continue to Love Valley, known for its dramatic rock formations and wide-open views.

After lunch, explore the warm-toned landscapes of Red Valley and Rose Valley, then continue to Cavusin Village, where old rock-carved homes tell stories of local life shaped by stone. The day ends at Pigeon Valley, a scenic viewpoint that captures the soft, surreal beauty of Cappadocia before returning to your hotel.

Day 7North Cappadocia Tour - Flight to Istanbul (B)

**Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride (contact us for Booking)**

Your final Cappadocia tour day begins with a photo stop overlooking Uchisar Castle, the region’s dramatic rock fortress and one of its most memorable viewpoints. From there, continue to the famous Goreme Open Air Museum, where cave churches and ancient frescoes make Cappadocia’s spiritual heritage feel vivid and close.

After lunch in Avanos, enjoy a pottery demonstration and the chance to try this traditional craft yourself. The afternoon continues through the imaginative formations of Devrent Valley, the mushroom-shaped fairy chimneys of Monks Valley, St. Simeon’s monk cell, and Pasabag.

At the end of the tour, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival, you’ll be picked up and taken to your hotel for your final night.

Day 8Istanbul Airport transfer (B)

Depending on your flight time, your private driver will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you comfortably to the airport.

If your departure is later in the day, a half-day or full-day Istanbul tour can be arranged, giving you one last opportunity to enjoy the city before your journey ends.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is this 8 Days Private Turkey Tour – Popular Cities Tour best suited for?

This tour is best suited for travelers who want to see Turkey’s most popular cities and landmark regions in one well-planned private itinerary. It is especially useful for first-time visitors who want Istanbul’s imperial history, Ephesus’ ancient ruins, Pamukkale’s travertines, Antalya’s archaeological sites, and Cappadocia’s valleys without arranging each transfer, flight, and guided tour separately.

Does this itinerary feel rushed or comfortably paced?

This is a full and active Turkey itinerary, not a slow-paced beach holiday. It covers several regions in eight days, so travelers should expect early starts, airport transfers, guided sightseeing, and some long travel sections. The private structure helps keep the journey organized, while the route is designed for travelers who want to maximize their time in Turkey.

Which major historical sites are included in this Popular Cities Tour?

The tour includes some of Turkey’s most important historical sites, including Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, Ephesus, House of Virgin Mary, Temple of Artemis, IsaBey Mosque, Hierapolis, Perge, Aspendos Theater, Goreme Open Air Museum, and Cappadocia’s ancient underground city. This makes the package strong for travelers interested in Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, and early Christian heritage.

How are the city-to-city transfers handled during the tour?

The itinerary uses a combination of private airport transfers, domestic flights, guided road transfers, and a Pamukkale-to-Antalya bus station connection. Travelers fly from Istanbul to Izmir, later continue from Antalya to Cappadocia by flight where available, and return from Cappadocia to Istanbul. If there is no direct Antalya to Cappadocia flight, a connecting flight via Istanbul or bus transfer can be arranged.

Is the Antalya section mainly historical or scenic?

The Antalya day combines both history and nature. Perge and Aspendos are the main historical highlights, with Aspendos especially known for its remarkably preserved Roman theater. Manavgat Waterfall adds a lighter scenic break after the ancient sites, making this part of the tour a useful contrast between archaeology, local landscapes, and a more relaxed natural stop.

Is the Cappadocia balloon ride available on both Cappadocia mornings?

The itinerary lists the optional Cappadocia balloon ride on both Day 6 and Day 7, which can be useful because balloon flights are weather-dependent. Rides usually operate very early in the morning around sunrise. Booking in advance is recommended, and having more than one Cappadocia morning may improve flexibility if weather conditions affect the first opportunity.

What kind of walking should travelers expect at Ephesus, Pamukkale, and Cappadocia?

Travelers should expect moderate walking on uneven surfaces. Ephesus and Perge involve ancient stone streets, open-air ruins, and some downhill walking. Cappadocia includes valleys, viewpoints, cave sites, and natural paths. Pamukkale requires walking approximately 0.5 miles barefoot across the travertines, so guests should be comfortable moving carefully on wet mineral surfaces without shoes.

What should I bring for the Pamukkale tour day?

For Pamukkale, bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a comfortable swimsuit if you want to enjoy the thermal pools or hot spring atmosphere. Since shoes are not worn on the travertines, it is practical to carry a small bag for footwear and personal items. A towel may also be useful depending on your selected package and bathing plans.

Are lunches and breakfasts included every day?

Breakfast is mentioned on several hotel mornings, while lunch is included or planned on selected guided tour days according to the itinerary notes. Some days show breakfast only, some include lunch, and some meal details may depend on the final package. Travelers should confirm the exact meal inclusions before booking, especially for flight and transfer-heavy days.

Is there enough time for shopping during this tour?

Shopping time is limited but included in the most relevant place: Istanbul’s Grand Bazaar. Day 1 also gives free time after hotel check-in, depending on arrival time. This itinerary is mainly designed around sightseeing rather than shopping, but travelers may still find opportunities for souvenirs in the Grand Bazaar, Cappadocia pottery stops, and local areas near the hotels.

What are the strongest photo opportunities on this itinerary?

This tour offers a wide variety of photography settings, from Istanbul’s domes and palace courtyards to the marble streets of Ephesus and the white terraces of Pamukkale. Strong Cappadocia photo stops include Love Valley, Red Valley, Rose Valley, Pigeon Valley, Uchisar Castle, Pasabag, and Devrent Valley. Aspendos Theater and Manavgat Waterfall also add memorable visual variety.

Can this private Turkey tour be customized?

Some adjustments can usually be arranged upon request, especially around optional activities, the Cappadocia balloon ride, Antalya-to-Cappadocia transport preferences, and extra Istanbul sightseeing before departure. Since this is a private Turkey tour, it offers more flexibility than a fixed group package, but changes should be confirmed in advance based on flight schedules, hotel availability, and seasonal operating conditions.
