Itinerary

Day 1Arrival in Istanbul and Check-in to hotel

Your 8 Days Turkey Tour – Popular Cities Tour begins with a smooth arrival in Istanbul, where your driver welcomes you at the airport and transfers you to your hotel in Sultanahmet. This historic district places you close to the city’s most iconic landmarks, giving your journey an atmospheric and convenient start.

After check-in, the rest of the day is free. You may rest after your flight or step out for a gentle first walk through Sultanahmet, where the streets, domes, cafés, and old-city charm begin to set the mood for your Turkey experience.

Day 2Istanbul Walking Tour (Old City) (B,L)

After breakfast, your guide meets you at 8:30 for a full-day walking tour of Istanbul Old City, the historic heart of the city. The day begins at Hagia Sophia, one of Turkey’s most powerful landmarks, before continuing to the elegant Blue Mosque and the ancient Hippodrome, where your guide brings the city’s imperial past to life.

Lunch is served at a traditional Turkish restaurant, giving you a comfortable pause in the day. In the afternoon, you explore Topkapi Palace, once home to Ottoman sultans, before ending among the colors, sounds, and covered lanes of the Grand Bazaar.

At the end of the tour, your guide takes you back to your hotel. The evening is free to rest or enjoy more of Istanbul at your own pace.

Day 3Istanbul to Izmir flight - Ephesus Tour (L)

Early in the morning, you are transferred to the airport for your one-hour flight from Istanbul to Izmir. Upon arrival, your local team welcomes you and takes you to the office in Selcuk Town. At 9:30, your guide leads you toward Ephesus, one of the most impressive ancient cities in Turkey.

Your visit begins at the Magnesia Gate, followed by a guided downhill walk through the ancient city. Along the way, you see the Odeon, Celsus Library, Temple of Hadrian, Trajan Fountain, and the remarkable Great Theater. The scale of the ruins, especially the theater once seating around 24,000 people, creates a strong sense of Roman grandeur and living history.

After Ephesus, the tour continues to the peaceful Virgin Mary House, followed by lunch with Turkish cuisine. In the afternoon, you visit the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, and the historic IsaBey Mosque in Selcuk before returning to your hotel in Kusadasi or Selcuk.

Day 4Hierapolis and Pamukkale Tour - Transfer to Antalya (L)

Your day begins with pick-up from your hotel in Kuşadasi or Selcuk for the scenic three-hour drive to Pamukkale. On arrival, lunch is served at a local restaurant before your guided tour begins.

You enter from the top of Hierapolis Ancient City, exploring the Gymnasium, the impressive Amphitheatre, and the Temple of Apollo. With your guide’s insight, the ruins feel like an open-air museum where Roman history, sacred spaces, and ancient thermal culture meet.

Afterwards, you remove your shoes and walk carefully across the white travertines of Pamukkale, where warm mineral water flows over bright natural terraces. You may dip your feet in the hot springs or enjoy the man-made thermal baths for a swim.

At the end of the tour, your guide takes you to the bus station for your bus to Antalya. Upon arrival, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel.

Guests must be able to walk approx. 0.5 miles over the travertines without shoes.

We advise you to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a comfortable swimsuit.

Day 5Perge, Aspendos, Kursunlu, and Manavgat tour - Flight to Cappadocia (B,L)

After breakfast, your guide picks you up at 8:30 for a full-day tour of the historic highlights around Antalya. The day begins at Perge, an ancient city originally settled by the Hittites around 1,500 B.C., where old streets and ruins give a quiet sense of the region’s deep past.

The journey continues to Aspendos, home to one of Turkey’s best-preserved Roman theaters. Standing before its grand stone seating and stage, it is easy to imagine the power and elegance of ancient performance.

Lunch is served at a traditional Turkish restaurant before the day continues to Manavgat Waterfall, a refreshing natural stop that adds movement, greenery, and a softer scenic mood to the tour. At the end of the day, you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Cappadocia. Upon arrival, your local team meets you and transfers you to your hotel.

Please Note: If there is no direct flight available from Antalya to Cappadocia, we will book a connecting flight via Istanbul. Alternatively, a bus from Antalya to Cappadocia can be arranged upon request.

Day 6South Cappadocia Tour (B,L)

**Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride (contact us for Booking)**

For guests who want the full Cappadocia experience, the optional Cappadocia balloon ride is one of the most unforgettable additions. Floating above valleys and fairy chimneys at sunrise is a rare travel moment, and advance booking is recommended due to limited availability and weather-dependent flights.

At 9:30, your South Cappadocia Tour begins with the underground city, where eight visitor-accessible levels reveal tunnels, rooms, and hidden spaces carved beneath the earth. It is a fascinating start, filled with mystery and discovery.

The landscape then opens into Love Valley, famous for its unusual rock formations and striking photo opportunities. After lunch, you continue through the colorful scenery of Red Valley and Rose Valley, followed by the historic rock settlement of Cavusin Village.

The day ends at Pigeon Valley, where sweeping views create a calm and memorable closing moment before your transfer back to the hotel. The evening is free to relax in Cappadocia.

Day 7North Cap

Day 7North Cappadocia Tour - Flight to Istanbul (B,L)

**Optional Hot Air Balloon Ride (contact us for Booking)**

After breakfast, your North Cappadocia Tour begins at 9:30 with a panoramic photo stop overlooking Uchisar Castle. From this viewpoint, Cappadocia stretches out in dramatic layers of valleys, cave dwellings, and volcanic formations.

The tour continues to the Goreme Open Air Museum, one of the essential highlights of any Cappadocia itinerary, known for its rock-cut churches, chapels, and ancient frescoes. Lunch is enjoyed in Avanos, followed by a pottery demonstration where you can watch local craftsmanship and try shaping the clay yourself.

In the afternoon, you visit Devrent, known for animal-shaped rock formations, then continue to St. Monk’s Valley, St. Simeon’s monk cell, and Pasabeg, one of the best places to admire Cappadocia’s fairy chimneys up close.

At the end of the tour, you are transferred to the airport for your flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, your driver meets you and takes you to your hotel.

Day 8Istanbul Airport transfer (B)

After breakfast, your final day in Istanbul is arranged around your flight time. Your driver picks you up from your hotel and transfers you to the airport, making your departure smooth, comfortable, and stress-free.

If your flight is later in the day, you may add a half-day or full-day tour to enjoy one last experience in Istanbul. It is a simple way to make the most of your remaining time before leaving Turkey.

Your 8 Days Turkey Tour – Popular Cities Tour ends with a rich blend of memories — from historic Istanbul and ancient Ephesus to the white terraces of Pamukkale, the Mediterranean atmosphere of Antalya, and the dreamlike landscapes of Cappadocia.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does this Popular Cities Tour differ from a standard 8-day Turkey itinerary?

This route is built around Turkey’s most visited travel regions, but it also adds Antalya between Pamukkale and Cappadocia. That gives the itinerary more variety than the classic Istanbul, Cappadocia, Ephesus, and Pamukkale route. You still see the major cultural icons, but you also experience Perge, Aspendos, Manavgat Waterfall, and a Mediterranean-style stop before flying onward to Cappadocia.

Will this tour feel rushed with Istanbul, Ephesus, Pamukkale, Antalya, and Cappadocia included?

The schedule is active, but the route is arranged to keep each region focused. Istanbul has a full Old City walking tour, Ephesus and Pamukkale each receive a dedicated sightseeing day, Antalya has one concentrated historical and scenic day, and Cappadocia is covered over two guided tours. It suits travelers who want a rich Turkey tour package rather than a slow leisure holiday.

How is transportation handled between the cities?

The tour uses a mix of airport transfers, domestic flights, road transfers, and one bus connection from Pamukkale to Antalya. You fly from Istanbul to Izmir, travel by road to Pamukkale and Antalya, then continue to Cappadocia by flight if available. If there is no direct Antalya to Cappadocia flight, a connecting flight via Istanbul or a bus option may be arranged.

Is the Antalya stop worth including in this 8 Days Turkey Tour?

Yes, especially for travelers who want more than the usual highlights. Antalya adds ancient sites and Mediterranean scenery to the journey. Perge gives you a quieter archaeological experience, Aspendos is known for its remarkable Roman theater, and Manavgat Waterfall brings a refreshing natural break before the tour continues to Cappadocia’s cave landscapes and fairy chimneys.

Can I take the Cappadocia hot air balloon ride during this tour?

Yes. The Cappadocia balloon ride is offered as an optional experience and should be booked in advance when possible. It usually takes place early in the morning, around sunrise, and flights are weather-dependent for safety. Seeing the valleys, fairy chimneys, and cave settlements from above is one of the most iconic additions to a Cappadocia tour.

How much walking should I expect on this itinerary?

Expect moderate walking throughout the tour. Istanbul Old City is explored on foot, Ephesus follows a downhill route over ancient stone streets, and Pamukkale requires walking about 0.5 miles barefoot across the travertines. Cappadocia’s valleys, open-air museum areas, and Antalya’s ancient sites may also include uneven surfaces, so comfortable shoes are essential.

What should I know before visiting Pamukkale on this tour?

Pamukkale is one of the most visually striking stops, but it requires some care. Guests must remove their shoes before walking on the travertines, and the surface can be wet, bright, and uneven. Bring sunglasses, sunscreen, and a swimsuit if you want to use the thermal baths. The afternoon free time allows you to enjoy the terraces without feeling overly rushed.

Which parts of the tour are best for photography?

This itinerary offers strong photo opportunities across very different settings. Istanbul gives you domes, courtyards, bazaars, and old-city streets. Ephesus has the Celsus Library and Great Theater, Pamukkale offers bright white terraces, Antalya adds Aspendos and Manavgat Waterfall, and Cappadocia brings Love Valley, Pigeon Valley, Uchisar views, Pasabeg, and the optional balloon experience.

Are there cultural or hands-on experiences included?

Yes. The tour includes more than sightseeing at ruins and landmarks. In Istanbul, the Grand Bazaar gives travelers a lively look at local shopping culture. In Avanos, the pottery demonstration adds a hands-on Cappadocia experience, with the chance to try shaping clay. These moments help the itinerary feel more personal and less like a simple checklist of attractions.

Where are the overnight stays located?

The itinerary includes hotel stays in Sultanahmet, Kusadasi or Selcuk, Antalya, and Cappadocia. Sultanahmet is convenient for Istanbul’s Old City landmarks. Kusadasi or Selcuk works well for Ephesus and the Pamukkale transfer. Antalya adds the Mediterranean section, while Cappadocia places you close to the valleys, underground city, Goreme Open Air Museum, and fairy chimney routes.

Is this tour suitable for families or older travelers?

It can suit families and older travelers who are comfortable with full sightseeing days, early starts, and moderate walking. The variety is a major advantage, with bazaars, waterfalls, pottery, ancient theaters, white terraces, and Cappadocia landscapes keeping the journey engaging. Travelers with mobility concerns should pay special attention to Ephesus, Pamukkale, and the uneven surfaces in Cappadocia.

What happens on the final day in Istanbul?

The final day is arranged around your departure flight. After breakfast, your driver transfers you from the hotel to the airport. If your flight is later, you may add a half-day or full-day Istanbul tour depending on timing and availability. This gives you a chance to enjoy one last experience before ending your 8 Days Turkey Tour – Popular Cities Tour.
